  Direct Digital

The Minneapolis College Bookstore, in collaboration with instructors and textbook publishers, has created the Direct Digital access program in order to reduce the cost of textbooks. When a class uses Direct Digital, the required materials for the class will be available to students digitally through a link on the course's D2L Brightspace site (access to the course D2L site begins three days prior to the first day of the semester). Direct Digital access usually provides students with more than just an  eTextbook. It can also contain online access to tutorials and activities required for the class. Direct Digital access always cost students less than a paper textbook with supplemental materials.

Direct Digital access is optional. If you prefer, you may opt out and find your required materials elsewhere. An opt out function will be available inside the course D2L page along with the course materials. If you do opt out, the Direct Digital charge will be removed from your bill and your access to the materials will be disabled. Requests to opt out must be received no later than the Friday of the 2nd week of the semester/session.

For those who prefer to have a printed book to supplement their digital materials, information about ordering an optional printed “upgrade” will also be available in D2L.

Minneapolis College's Direct Digital program saves students over $200,000 a semester, a number that will continue to grow!
