P.S.E.O (Post Secondary Education Opportunity)


High school students may take college courses to meet high school graduation requirements, as well as to begin their college careers, by enrolling in the Minnesota Post-Secondary Education Options (PSEO) program. Students accepted into this program must be at least 15 years of age and are not allowed to enroll in any courses below college level. This restriction includes ESL, developmental and ABE classes.


The PSEO program only admits students for Fall and Spring Semesters. Students accepted into the PSEO program will have their tuition costs and book fees waived.

 

PSEO students must order their books online.

  1. Complete the MCTC PSEO application.
  2. Complete the PSEO Notice of Student Registration Form provided by the Department of Education (available from your high school counselor). This form must be signed by you, your high school counselor or principal, and a parent or guardian (if you are under the age of 18).
  3. Take MCTC's placement tests,call 615-659-6262 for the testing schedule.
  4. Attach an official copy of your high school transcripts.


A 12th grade student is eligible and may be considered for enrollment in the PSEO program if his/her Minnesota high school certifies the student is enrolled, is at or about an overall grade point average of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale), and is 15 years of age or older.


An 11th grade student is eligible and may be consdered for enrollment in the PSEO program if his/her Minnesota high school certifies that student is enrolled, is at or above and overall grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale), and is 15 years of age or older.


All students admitted to the PSEO program must attend a mandatory PSEO orientation.
